Modeling Temperature Effects on the Solubility of CO2
Friday November 8, 2024 8:00am - 8:50am EST
One of the gas laws, that gases are more soluable in colder temps than warmer temps, is often a concept that students do not understand completely. I researched and put together a lab that models this phenomena. This lab can be used to reinforce prior knowledge, introduce the concept or as a review. Students are asked at the end to extrapolate their knoweldge to a different gas and environment.

Understanding Climate Change Through Data Analysis
Friday November 8, 2024 11:10am - 12:00pm EST
Data literacy is a key piece of analyzing the evidence for climate change. In this session, we will evaluate data related to Earth’s carbon cycle. We will also look at other data sources that can be used when teaching climate change and share a variety of supports that students can use any time they create or analyze data. Build your data literacy tool kit for your Earth science classes and more.
