About me
My name is Carla Butts, and I bring 22 years of teaching experience across a range of grade levels and subjects. I have taught 8th-grade science, high school Honors Earth Science, and Astronomy, and I currently lead STEM education for 3rd-5th graders. I hold a Bachelor’s in Geology from UNCW, an MAEd in Science Education from ECU, and a Master’s in School Administration from UNCW. With a deep passion for science—particularly all things related to space—I am committed to advancing science education in rural communities and inspiring our exceptional students to develop a lifelong enthusiasm for STEM.
