About me

Denise O'Gorman has been teaching for 26 years! She started her career in the Bronx, NY teaching physical scienc and Biology. She moved to NC in 1997 and started teaching at Woods Charter in 2003. She has taught Biology, Chemistry and currently teaches Earth & Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science and Marine Biology. Denise was awarded the EENC Practioner of the Year Award (sept. 2023) and wrote and received an $18,000 grant from NC Go Outside Grant to build an outdoor Science Classroom and upgrade the retention pond on campus with more native plants. Denise loves teaching and is always seeking new and onnovative ways of delivering science to her students!
