About me
Rachel Pedler earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Environmental Studies from UNC-Asheville and worked as a chemist for 10 years before coming to McDowell County Schools in 2014 as a lateral entry teacher in middle school science. She spent 8 years teaching Science at East McDowell Middle School before joining the faculty at McDowell High School where she has taught chemistry and biology for the last 3 years. Currently, she is an MHS Science Olympiad coach and facilitator of the MHS Environmental Club and Chemistry Club. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with husband, their three children, and their many fur babies. She is also a member of the Lake James Environmental Association (LJEA) where she leads community environmental outreach activities within the Lake James watershed.
