About me
Hello! My name is Amy Sparks and I am the mother of three beautiful kids. (They are now adults) and two beautiful grandsons, Landon who is 4 and Jax who will be 3 in December and another beautiful grand baby in June of 2025. I am the wife of Rob Sparks and have had the honor of being a military wife as my husband served in the USAF for 23 years. My husband retired in 2007 and we have continued to live in Fayetteville, NC. for 33 years. I taught in public education for 30 years and retired in 2017 to fulfill a dream of opening a school, The School of Hope, a school specifically for children who have autism. Our middle son Jarred had autism and sadly passed away at the age of 19 in 2011. This school that we opened is in memory of our son, Jarred Bryan Sparks, and my husband and I are the CO. Founders for The School of Hope. We are beginning our Eighth year at The School of Hope, and are excited to meet the needs of children who have autism. We are an accredited school as of June 2024! My greatest joy and passion is teaching and the greatest teacher that I have ever had was my son Jarred! My family is my greatest joy and I feel so blessed to have them with me on this journey. In addition to having a strong faith, and loving family, I have also had the privilege of teaching Autistuc children at The School of Hope for the past 7 years. I am currently the CEO for The School of Hope and I am also the principal. I love my job and I love teaching science! Science opens up so much for children, and allows them to become critical thinkers while learning so many other key lessons. It promotes a love for learning and a desire to know the "Why". Many people do not realize how much Autistic children can learn through science and how science inquiry allows our children to critically think and learn. Science opens up a world of learning in so many academic, and social areas for disabled children with a hands-on approach. Our school has been a dream come true and a healing process as well. My greatest life lesson that I have learned is that "With God All things are possible!"
