Socioscientific lessons explore real-world issues bridging social and scientific topics. Through socioscientific storylines, students engage in hands-on learning about culturally relevant topics in their community. We will focus on integrating science and social studies in a real-world context for students incorporating the new North Carolina science standards. This session focuses on asking questions and defining problems to encourage interaction with science and engineering practices and to foster student participation in productive argumentation from evidence.
